Ms. Bodi, Peperooga, and Bodi's Baynav attended the Western States Horse Expo in June 2009.

They performed in all three days demonstrations, representing the Gypsy Rose Ranch, and the versatility of the Gypsy Horses bred and raised by our founder Lynn Strauman.

Peppy started the ranch representation by performing entry level cowboy dressage maneuvers, with Robin Clark on board, who had just flown in from Ohio. All with no practice days! They looked spectacular and enjoyed the audiences appreciation as they clapped and cheered with every step of the elegant Big Gypsy mare and her petite rider!

Ms. Bodi then came flying in at a gallop, pulling a two wheel easy entry cart, to the sound of Santana's "Black Magic Women"!

Lynn and Ms. Bodi had the audience standing on their feet cheering as she performed flying lead changes at the canter and gallop in the cart. She stopped on a dime, and did 360 degree circles, both directions, with one wheel pinned.

Bodi performed serpentines around cones, throwing rooster tails of dirt, demonstrating the versatility of the Gypsy horse and the potential for those wanting to compete in combined driving challenges. After the demonstration, many Quarter horse trainers, riders, and competitors came up to us and complimented us on the wonderful demonstration, and several stated that they had never seen a horse perform the manuevers Ms. B. did in the shafts, let alone one as massively built as she is.

Baynav a two and a half year old filly, bred by the Gypsy Rose Ranch, followed her Mom (Ms. Bodi) in the demonstration ring and she and her Trainer Dillion did a beautiful reining pattern, followed by a bow and lay down. Dillion stepped off the filly, picked up his fallen hat then stepped back up on the filly and flew around the arena at a dead run, once again bringing the crowd to their feet, with cheers and whistles.

The weekend was very rewarding as we once again demonstrated to many horse enthusiasts that the Gypsy horse is a very versatile breed as well as beautiful and enchanting.
